Tourists Spend Nearly VND 4,200 Billion Visiting Ho Chi Minh City During September 2nd Holiday
In just four days over the September 2nd holiday, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed approximately 1.45 million visitors and achieved tourism revenues of around VND 4,140 billion. Promotional programs at accommodation establishments and tourism services played a key role in attracting visitors.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, during the four-day holiday, about 1,450,000 visits were recorded to sightseeing and entertainment destinations in the city; international tourists made up roughly 45,600 visits.
Accommodation facilities saw around 300,000 overnight stays, with an estimated 87% occupancy rate, contributing to total tourism revenue of approximately VND 4,140 billion.
Accommodation Offers Up to 45% Discount
This impressive outcome is attributed to the city’s strategic collaboration with travel businesses and tourist spots in celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2nd). Joint efforts promoted tours combining cultural heritage sites; for instance, a two-day, one-night tour exploring Saigon Post Office – Notre-Dame Cathedral – Independence Palace, experiencing an open-top double-deck bus, enjoying dinner on a Saigon River cruise, and marveling at the skyline from Landmark 81 SkyView, among others.
Particularly this holiday, HCM City’s tourism sector attracted visitors through generous promotions offered by accommodation establishments and tourism services. Discounts ranged from 15–45%, often including complimentary breakfast, service vouchers, transfer services, or early-booking/group discounts.
Restaurants, entertainment venues, and shopping centers rolled out “golden hour” promotions, combo deals, and discounts from 10–50%, offering rich experiences for visitors and shoppers.
Furthermore, the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2025), held right after the holiday, became a focal point for both domestic and international visitors—amplifying the city’s tourism appeal and enhancing its image.
Special Appeal: Vũng Tàu Ward
According to the Tourism Department, Vũng Tàu Ward and nearby areas emerged as standout holiday destinations—an ideal pick for visitors during this holiday.
This appeal stems largely from coastal hotels and resorts offering promotions such as room discounts of 15–40%, complimentary breakfast, spa service discounts, meal vouchers, and special packages for families or group visitors.
Sea-food restaurants and coastal dining spots offered combo deals and “golden hour” promotions, adding to the appeal for diners. Meanwhile, beachside swimming areas and water sports like jet skiing and kayaking buzzed with activity.
The department also highlighted that Hồ Tràm earned the reputation of being the city’s emerging “luxury tourism capital”—boasting premium resorts, pristine natural landscapes, and fresh air.
As such, Vũng Tàu and Hồ Tràm continued to assert their allure, ranking among the busiest destinations for HCM City during the holiday.
